All those months of preparation just come down to one day and on that day, it won’t just be your Biology diagrams or Chemistry equations that will count. How you literally show up can make or break your entry into the exam room. The NEET UG 2026 re-test is on June 21, 2026. The National Testing Agency has some very specific rules about what you can wear, when you need to reach the test centre, and what goes through the gate with you. Read this before test day. Not joking.

Mark These Dates Before Exam Day

The NEET UG 2026 re-exam is on Sunday, 21st June 2026, from 2 PM to 5:15 PM. Candidates are required to be seated by 1:15 PM. The last entry to the examination hall is 1:30 PM. This leaves very little room for manoeuvre if you are stuck in traffic or looking for your exam centre. Candidates are strongly advised to arrive at least 120 to 140 minutes before closing time for last entry to go through security, complete the biometric verification and settle in without panic. Entry gates close at 1:30 PM sharp and late entry is not permitted.

It is required to bring along a printed copy of your NEET UG 2026 admit card and one of the valid photo ID proofs. Documents accepted are Aadhaar, passport, PAN card, voter ID or school identity card with a photograph. It can’t just be a digital copy on your phone. It needs to be printed out physically.

The Dress Code: What NTA Actually Wants

Candidates are recommended to wear light clothes with half sleeves only. Long sleeves are strictly forbidden. Shoes are also not allowed in the examination hall. Candidates must wear sandals with a low heel or footwear without thick soles.

For males, clothing with pockets, zippers, large buttons and multiple layers is not allowed. Females should wear half-sleeved kurtis or tops. Do not wear long or fancy sleeves and jewellery of any kind. Do not wear heels or closed shoes.

Applicants who are unable to follow these rules due to religious commitments must indicate this on their application forms under the “Customary dress” option. Such applicants need to report at least an hour before the screening process. Students wearing traditional clothing must report to the exam centre by 12:30 PM.

What You Can and Cannot Carry

The NEET UG 2026 OMR answer sheet has to be filled using a ballpoint pen, black or blue, provided at the centre. Use of correction fluid or overwriting on the OMR is strictly prohibited.

Food items are not allowed inside, except for diabetic candidates, who may carry sugar tablets or fruits like bananas, apples, or oranges. Packaged food and beverages are not permitted even for them.

Mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, wallets, handbags, and pouches are all barred from the hall. Do not bring them at all, not even to leave outside, as there is no safe storage facility at most centres.

Security Checks: Be Prepared

Candidates are thoroughly checked at the entrance gate using highly sensitive metal detectors. After passing standard security checks, candidates must also undergo biometric verification. NTA has clarified that candidates will still be allowed entry in special cases where biometric verification cannot be completed. Fully cooperate, move fast and keep your documents available at all times.

Inside the Examination Hall

Candidates must be seated in their allotted places at least 45 minutes before the examination starts. Your seat number will be printed on your admit card. The candidates must sign the attendance sheet in the presence of the invigilator. Sign it twice if asked, or you risk being marked absent despite being present. Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination hall before 5:15 PM.
