The Institute of Medicine or IOM Medical College in Nepal was established in 1972 at Tribhuvan University. This institute was given the responsibility to train and teach healthcare workers to meet the demand of health care in Nepal. IOM was established with 12 college campuses spread across the country: with three campuses in Kathmandu and nine outside Kathmandu.
IOM offers a wide range of courses such as Pharmacy, ANM, CMA, Radiology, and Proficiency Certificate Course in General Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Health Laboratory, Traditional Medicine and Physiotherapy. MBBS programme in IOM was introduces in 1978 with the intake capacity of 22 students but gradually the capacity has increased now.

IOM Medical College in Nepal Admission Process
- The MBBS course is being offered in KMC Manipal and KMC Mangalore. Its duration is four and a half years plus 1-year compulsory rotating internship course.
- The All India Rank attained in the NEET UG exam, administered by NTA, determines admission, and mcc will handle the counselling.
- The programme follows the NMC’s former MCI criteria for both its theory classes and its clinical instruction.
- Students can call a NEET adviser and benefit from our experience in NEET Counseling because the admissions process is made even more difficult by the university’s influx of foreign and NRI students.
