On January 18, 1993, the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) came into existence. On October 28, 1998, it was promoted to become an independent health sciences university. Its goals include providing healthcare and engaging in cutting-edge health research, as well as creating a workforce that is socially conscious and qualified in the healthcare industry.
The Institute, which is sited in Eastern Nepal, has expanded its ongoing health care service under-skilledng to teach district concepts to Primary Health Care Centers, District Hospitals, and Zonal Hospitals throughout the region. This university is appropriately named after Bisheshwar Prasad Koirala, Nepal’s visionary leader in social uplift and ardent supporter of national integration.
The BPKIHS Nepal provides quality medical courses under skilled and expert faculty and state-of-the-art infrastructure. The College is popular for its medical programs such as MBBS and BDS. The two courses last for 5 years
