Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR) is a constituent institute of Jamia Hamdard University, New Delhi. A private institute approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and conferred Grade “A” by NAAC. Founded in the year 1989, was formally inaugurated by the former Prime Minister of India Shri Rajiv Gandhi on August 1, 1989. In the year 2019, it was allocated the Institute of Eminence status by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. HIMSR provides courses in MBBS, B.Sc (Paramedical Sciences), BOT, BPT, MS/MD, MPT, MOT, M.Sc (Paramedical Sciences) and PhD. The institute also offers Diploma courses in X-ray & ECG Techniques (DXE), Operation Theatre Techniques (DOTT), Dialysis Techniques (DDT) and Medical Record & Health Information Management. Aspirants seeking admission into MBBS and MD/MS courses offered by HIMSR need to qualify for NEET UG and NEET PG respectively. The allocation of admissions will be done through centralised counselling by qualified authorities. In case of admissions to BPT, B.Sc, and BOT merit of NEET UG will be taken into consideration. Candidates applying for Diploma courses will be selected through the merit of qualifying examination and interview. For all other courses, PG and PhD applicants need to clear the entrance examination organised by HIMSR. The selection of aspirants entering for the Test/Interview is based on merit as set by the candidate’s performance. Acceptability for UG degree and diploma courses is clearing the class 12th examination or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as mandatory subjects. For MD/MS admission candidates must have an MBBS degree; M.Sc applicants need a pass in MBBS or other related paramedical/life science courses. MPT/MOT admissions will be given to aspirants in possession of a BPT/BOT degree only.

The application to the institute can be made online mode only. Candidates need to register and fill up the application form provided on the institute’s official website.
