Maharajgunj Medical College is one of the oldest medical education centres of Nepal. This college is the first choice among students for healthcare profession education in Nepal. Maharaj Gunj Medical College is one of the Institute of Medicine’s nine campuses (IoM). In the little more than two decades since it was upgraded from the Auxiliary Health Workers’ School to the status of an IoM campus in 1972, Maharajgunj Medical Campus has played a significant role in conducting academic programmes for the development of multiple categories of Human Resources for Health (HRH) in Nepal.
MMC strives to produce competent and adaptable human resources for the health sector. HRH provides primary to tertiary healthcare in the country, from primary health care providers to medical specialists. MC has made significant advances in medical education in Nepal.

The Eligibility criteria for different courses is different. The Eligibility Criteria for some courses of Maharajgunj Medical College Nepal is following:
MBBS or equivalent with compulsory rotatory internship, registration in the Concerned Medical Council and one year of experience in a Nepali hospital.
Students must have completed the 10+2 programme or an equivalent with a minimum grade of “C” in each subject, with biology serving as the major
Students must have passed Masters in Clinical psychology from a recognized University.
Students must have passed Bachelors or equivalent from a recognized University.
