MD/MS in Karnataka is a popular career path for students interested in pursuing a Post-Graduation Medical course in India. MD stands for Doctor of Medicine, and pursuing an MD involves three years of clinical education in the field of medicine. Karnataka MD/MS ADMISSION
Candidates must qualify the NEET-PG entrance exam, which is prescribed by NBE each year, to be admitted to MD/MS programmes in Karnataka. Candidates must have reliable or provisional enrollment with MCI and have accomplished an MBBS degree from an MCI-recognized medical college/institute with a one-year mandatory internship to apply for NEET-PG. Students must go through NEET-PG counselling at the Central and State levels after passing the NEET-PG entrance exam.
On behalf of DGHS, MCC (Medical Counseling Committee) provides NEET-PG counselling (Director General Health Secretary). The MCC provides counselling for the All Karnataka Quota.

Process of applying for MD MS in Karnataka:
Candidates for Medical Postgraduate Courses (MD/MS/PG -Diploma) must have approved the NEET -PG (National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test). The NEET-PG exam is administered online throughout by NBE.
Concerning the NBE (National Board of Examinations):
The NBE was established by the Government of India in 1975 to provide quality education in modern medicine. The NBE’s primary goal is to conduct Postgraduate Medical Examinations. The NBE exams are administered entirely online. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is in charge of NBE. Because of recent changes in medical entrance exams, NBE is now administering a single entrance exam for admission to MD/MS/DNB programmes across the country.
Eligibility for the NEET-PG Exam:
- Candidates must be pursuing or have completed their MBBS degree from a recognised institution by the Indian Medical Council (MCI).
- The candidate holds an MBBS degree with a minimum of 50% in general and 45% in SC, ST, and OBC categories.
- Candidates must have completed a year of internships by March 31st of the academic year.
Foreign nationals are also eligible to sit for the NEET-PG exam. Temporary registration with MCI, on the other hand, is not required. They can take the NEET-PG exam without being registered with MCI, but they must apply for temporary registration.
Candidates must have registered with the appropriate registering authority in their home country before taking the exam, and their medical qualifications must be recognised by the competent authority for the country in question.
